Programs

DSNY Foundation focuses it’s services for two main groups:

1. Seniors, living in New York. The goal of the DSNY Foundation activities is to improve the lives of many of older adults living in New York area. The majority of them are immigrants, predominantly from Poland and other Eastern European countries. Many have very limited English language skills, making them severely disadvantaged due to lack of information and communication barriers. In many cases we are their only resource for help and assistance in their own language and familiar environment.

2. Bilingual, Polish – American children and youth, born in USA but raised in Polish or Polish-American families living on the East Coast. The goal of the foundation is to promote bilingualism among young generation, promote learning Polish language, knowledge of their roots, history, culture and tradition of their parents country – Poland, as well as the knowledge of Polish people involvement in creation of United States of America (which is not limited only to generally known Kosciuszko and Pulaski) in general society.

Important part of the activities of the DSNY Foundation focuses on Polish Saturday Schools (there are 78 of them on the East Coast), which are important base of a strong Polish community in US.
